The group’s activities are closely related to the work of the Parliamentary Assembly. All our members sit on specific committees and produce reports and proposals on a range of issue affecting European citizens’ daily lives. They also play an active part in election observation missions in the Council’s member countries.

Since 5 March 2024, Alexis Tsipras (SYRIZA, Greece), is the Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on the Western Balkans
Since 23 January 2024, Emmanuel Fernandes (LFI, France) is the Second Vice-Chairperson of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons.
Since 29 January 2024, Laura Castel (ERC, Spain) is a member of the Council for Democratic Elections of the Venice Commission.
