The UEL chair and representatives supported today the Standing Committee in welcoming the Committee of Ministers’ decision to hold a 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe in May 2023 — #RoadToReykjavik and especially the engagement of the Icelandic Prime Minister, Ms Jakobsdóttir to include the parliamentary, youth and environmental dimensions into the Summit.
The UEL chair Katrougalos thanked Bjarni Jónsson, chair of the Icelandic delegation, for hosting the Standing Committee meeting in Reykjavik and expressed his full trust in the success of the forthcoming Summit.
