UEL Chairman, Mr. Kox congratulated yesterday the former vice-chairman, Mr. Petrenco and his comrades with his final release on which the UEL Group has been insisting throughout months. For a member State of the Council of Europe it is not appropriate to hold citizens imprisoned because of political reasons. “We insist that all the remaining obstacles regarding Mr. Petrenco, in order to continue his political work, should immediately disappear. We also hope that Moldova can draw lessons from this case and want to express our appreciation to all those who, inside and outside Moldova, have fought for Mr. Petrenco’s release” said Mr. Kox.
