UEL Chair: Navalny should now be released immediately

The European Court of Human Rights has granted an interim measure in favour of Aleksey Navalnyy and asks the Government of Russia to release him.

“The decision is clear: the Court demands immediate release of Mr Navalny. I hope and expect that the Russian authorities will respect this interim measure”, said UEL chair Kox.

He stated that: “The ECtHR is the Court of all 47 member states of the Council of Europe. To pay respect to its decisions is fundamental to the functioning of the unique protection system the European Convention on Human Rights offers each and every citizen on the territory of the COE member states.”
